Default Re: Club Car 48 Volt Charging Problem

Hello All,

It has been three weeks but I have just now been able to charge the cart and measure the voltage. I charged overnight and the charger appeared to be working normally. I am not sure how long it stayed on. In the morning the individual batteries measured between 8.63 and 8.67 volts, and the pack voltage was 52.0. I used the cart lightly for a day and plugged the charger in and it immediately began charging. Almost as soon as I plugged it in the amperage began gradually dropping from 15 down to around 8 or 9. After about 2 hours the amps were close to 6, and the pack voltage was around 60 volts. I am not sure how long it charged before cutting off.

Does this appear to be normal charging and do these voltages indicate a full charge? I am still a little miffed as to why the batteries died after only moderate use and why my charger relay was kicking on but showing 0 amps of charge. Also my low battery warning light never came on? However, now it all appears to work normally. These batteries were purchased new in March.
