Powerwise II clicks on and off?
Ok the charger I have for Sonny is a power wise II. Got the new batteries installed and everything wired. Plugged the pwII into the cart then into the wall... Click, hmmmmmmmmm, 12amps on gauge! Great the charger works!! Click, turned off. 5 seconds, click back on. 5 seconds click off. 5 seconds click on. After this click on it stayed on and has been charging for about an hour.
The batteries were brand new and had 38.2 volts before charging, after about an hour there at 41.8. Charger seems to be working fine. Is the initial clicking on and off normal on this charger? Thanks |

Sounds like dirty or loose contact in the battery sense circuit. Try cleaning the outside of the negative Radsok in the cart's charger receptacle and the Auxiliary contact in the charger's plug. Also, If you open the charger's plug, you can tweak the Aux. contact for more spring tension. Other than that, it sounds like the PW-II is working normally. The first charge will take quite a while and the back-up timer might shut off charger, so if it is off this morning, unplug from cart and then plug back in. It'll either shut of in a few minutes or run longer to complete the initial charge. Be sure to break in those now batteries right. |

Re: Powerwise II clicks on and off?
Thanks Johnnie, i plugged it back in this morning and it never clicked off, i had taken apart the charger to clean the inside real well and disassembled the plug to clean it. Ill see if it happens again but i figure it was probably the Aux.
Not to worry, you and Scotty have given me great info on battey care so they will be broken in and taken care of properly. Thanks again. |
