Default 1990 Club Car voltage question

Hello guys,

I have a 90' electric club car 36v. I charged batteries yesterday and checked voltage. The voltage was around 38V fully charged, I also checked voltage going to and from the g-vlide. My voltage going into the v-glide was around 34v at WOT and voltage going to motor was only 31v at WOT.

So my question is it normal to have less then 36 volts going to the motor when pack has 36-38v fully charged?

I've never measured my voltage at WOT, but I would guess that the voltage drop that you see is caused by resistance somewhere in the system. It could be cables (my first suspect), failing V-Glide parts, or a bad battery.

PS your voltage on a fully charge battery pack should be over 38V. If it drops goiing to the V-glide, you have resistance issues. If it drops going to the motor, you have resistance issues.

Your voltage will drop when you mash the pedal, how much is dependant on battery strength, the weaker the bats the more it will drop.

Check for corrosion on EVERY connection also. Trust me, some places that you wouldn't expect to be corroded will be! I've even found corrosion on my V-Glide connections.

Ok..after doing more research I found one of the batteries only has around 2 volts while under load.

Is there a way to fix this problem or do I just need to replace the battery?

First check the cables going to the battery. You might try swapping them with another battery just to see if the problems stays or follows. My guess is that you have a bad battery.
