Re: 1979 club car schematic
Chris,
There is no "forward coil" in the motor, the coils are used for both forward and reverse, with the polarity of one being switched to change directions. Look carefully at the F/R selector and those micro switches. I'll bet that one operates only when Reverse is selected, the other when either direction is selected. It's entirely possible that the latter is slightly out of adjustment and isn't operating in the Forward position. Usually, you can hear the 'click' if everything is quiet in your work area. I think that one of those micro switches operates only in the Reverse position and is used to sound the buzzer. If you hold that switch mechanically, you should be able to hear the other one, and it should 'click' when either direction is selected. |

Re: 1979 club car schematic
When I posted the previous thread from TahoeDawg I was trying to suggest that you could jumper the i/o on any of the micros on your F/R switch to check them out. I had read somewhere ( can't find it now ) that folks have a second micro on the F/R for a safety for R or other reasons such as added accessories.
Just jumper the switches one at a time.....being careful to pause a bit in neutral when you go from F/R...and you should be able to determine why the second micro was added. I'm thinking that jdunmyer is correct. I'll keep looking for the article about adding a second micro for some purpose other than the factory design. |
