Leaf Spring (Front)
hi all, yesterday I created a post titled "LIFT KIT" and I got a lot of information. So I went out to my garage to take a look under my Club Car DS (2001, 48 volt) and I noticed I had very little clearance between my front leaf spring and my front wheels (Photos attached). The cart has been driving fine with NO scraping sounds but I can tell there has been some rubbing.
Do you know how much clearance I should have? Is that normal clearance? If not what would cause that? Also, I was planning on purchasing a lift kit, do you think I should also purchase a new front leaf spring or could the drooping be caused by something else? Thanks for any info you can give me. You will need to get at least 10" rims with a lift kit. And yes it is normal for the spring perch to be that close. Rubbing can be due to rough use over bumps and everything flexing.

Maybe if you used offset wheels?
I agree with the other post that 10" wheels would probably give you clearance. |

in photo 2 it looks like your bushing is cracked .. worn bushings will also cause rubbing .. id get new ones soon

In the first pic looks like the pivot arm nut needs to be tightened. A lot of gap there!

These bushings go bad all the time. I use the polyurethane replacements because the rubber ones wear out and cause loose steering.
