Default Battery warning light voltage...

1996 CC DS 48v 6x8. My battery light isn't working. Checked it with a continuity tester, shows open. Checked it both ways in case it is a LED. I've got lots of similar lamps around that I could put in that hole, but I don't know the specs of the factory light. What is its operating voltage? Oh, and I am installing a voltmeter too. Thanks.

It's a 14 volt bulb. I would imagine you could hook it straight to a 12v battery just for testing purposes.

Yellow light? It's not just a light, but also a transmitter/sensor. Do you have OBC?|

More importantly, what are you trying to figure out?

The light never comes on. So I thought it may simply be a warning light (with a bulb, nothing else). That is why I looked for continuity both ways. Got nothing. Which usually suggests a broken bulb or a non-functioning LED.

I had forgotten that it is a transmitter also, CC had an infrared diagnostic tool for it I believe. A 96 would have the red idiot light.
