Memorial day trouble 48v club car issues.
Hey guys. Over the weekend I have been experiencing some difficulties with my 2003 club car. It's a 48v iq cart. After charging I'll get about 1/2 mile before the cart slows down to a crawl. Also noticed the battery voltage is very high about 65 volts. Also on of the contacts on the motor gets extremely hot. To the point of flash boiling water when I poured water on it.

When the wire connections look like yours you could have a serious issue in the motor itself...the wires have been very hot also and will need to be replaced...not just cleaned...you can see that they have been so hot that the wire itself is annealed and will never be the same. My advice would be to send the motor in to Plum Quick and have them upgrade it and report back what they find when they open it up. Upgrade the wires and check the batteries. My two cents....

The white cable is burn too badly to pass current. Start by changing it. I would go for changing all of your power cables to 4 ga.
Not a good ideal to pour water on a motor hot or cold. |

Looking at that picture I'd be surprised if you can even get the nut off the cable without tearing it out of the motor. I'd spray it down with PB Blaster several times before gingerly trying to loosen it up...

Long story short I converted this cart over from a 36v resistor. After looking at some wiring diagrams and trying to figure out why the diagrams say f2 I think it's still the 36v motor
