1994 36v marathon no reverse
Series cart goes forward but not backwards. How do i troubleshoot the f/r switch?

Test for continuity as shown below. basically if the series cart runs in one direction and not the other the F&R contacts are the #1 suspect trouble spot. If it hasn't been upgraded to an EZ575 HD F&R get one now!

Should I disconnect the 4 cables from the switch before checking continuity?

Those contacts in that cam switch for F/R can get dirty and worn. You can take the cam apart and clean the copper contacts. WHile in there, look for burn spots. Burnt connection areas may indicate the need to rebuild or replace the assembly
