Default How to temporarily slow down 2015 TXT 48V?

What are your best ideas on how to temporarily slow down my cart by 2-3 MPH?

I just got my first cart, a 2015 TXT 48V and I need it inspected by my local police to get it registered. Right now it's running 21/22MPH (using a GPS phone app) and the limit is 20MPH. I don't know how precise they measure but I would rather not fail the inspection the first time.

The cart has Freedom Mode and 215/50-12 tires. I think the combination is what is causing the higher speed. I don't have any other tires or easy access to a dealer.

You need a handheld to do it electronically. Might be able to rig something up in the linkages to prevent full throttle.

Could also put on stock sized tires - 18" OD vs the 20.5" OD you have now will slow the cart.

Good idea - drill a hole in the top of the gas pedal and screw a piece of wood to the bottom limiting the pedal travel to about 80%.

Bypass one battery for the test to slow the cart down. I don't know if this would work on a RXV. But it might?? See what the RXV guru's say

I second Scootyb !!

His suggestion is what I do when the grandsons visit !!!

Easy "on & off" and is easy to fine tune for your speed preference !

TXT Rib. Don’t think it will run on 40 volts.

Did some more looking and there is an adjustment on the throttle linkage. Mark it where it is now and I think if you shorten it should take care of it.

Glue a little wood block on back of gas pedal (painted black first). After test is done, smack the wood right off there.
