Default electric cart got hot.

I was pulling a small drag behind my cart today and it started smelling hot. I let it sit ten minutes unhooked the drag and headed for the garage. I stopped for a second and tried again and there was nothing. The batteries where about 75%.. The dump box doesnt work. The headlights don't work. After charging the battery meter shows 100. You hit the throttle and thers a click but wont go either direction. Still no lights or dump box. Any advice what to check first?

What year, model, voltage (36V or 48V or other) is your cart?

When you say it got hot.....what specific item(s) got hot?

Does any part of your wiring or cables show melted coverings?

It is a 2000 workhorse 36 v. Theres no evidence of anythhing that melted. All the cables were cool to the touch with no corrosion. The only thing that felt warm ( not hot) was a bix 2x4 inches diameter and 10-12 inches tall. Mounted on the right side near the selinoid
