Solenoid EZGO TXT 98 DCS
1 have a 98 DCS EZGO with the alltrax 400amp controller. I was hooked into the controller with the lap top trying to see what needs to be set where. I had it hooked up for about 10 mins probably with the cart on and when I went to unplug it I noticed the solenoid was extremely hot. Is that normal? I know they get warm when you have driven for a while but the cart hasn't moved since last night it was just on for those 10 mins or so. It is so hot you cant touch it but for a second. that may be normal but idk enough about it. Just seemed excessively hott to me...
Solenoid is- 36 volt, 200amp 4 terminal with silver oxide contacts heavy duty 200amp continuous 800 amp peak not sure of brand Thanks, ALSO- I accidentally posted this in the club car forum instead of the EZGO one, Not sure if an admin can delete the other one.. |

Re: Solenoid EZGO TXT 98 DCS
Not normal. The solenoid should only get a bout 10-15º above ambient temperature. It does sound like maybe your solenoid is welded. I'll go so far as to guess it is silver and black with the main posts on the sides opposite one another like this one here > https://www.buggiesgonewild.com/showthread.php?t=110200

Re: Solenoid EZGO TXT 98 DCS
if this is the same one, does that mean that it is wired correctly/I haven't done something wrong and it is just the solenoid? and will it hurt anything?

Re: Solenoid EZGO TXT 98 DCS
What do you mean by welded? Like it welded itself during operation? If I need to replace do you know which one I need to go back with?
