Forward/Reverse switch

I have an issue I cannot figure out. I bought new SR48500, solenoid F/W switch, batteries and new cables. The original install I only put in the new F/W switch….left everything old in it and when I put it in reverse, everything worked fine. But when I put it in forward I hear the solenoid click but it will not move. I can switch back and forth between F&W and sometimes it would like slam into gear and the cart would jump. I then decided to go ahead and installed everything new and it does the same thing and it is dangerous. It will work in reverse every time but not in forward. After numerous switching back & forth to F&W, all of a sudden (even mashing the accelerator slowly, it jumps like you popped a clutch in a car. I went back to my original F/W switch and it works great but that is the original and will not survive long with my upgraded system. Any suggestions? I have an email in to Scotty B as that is where I bought the F/W switch, controller and solenoid but thought I would try all the experts out there too......Also put in a new PQ motor.
