Default Picking up an 06 Precedent..What to look for?

Hi guys, I'm picking up an 06 Precedent when I get home from offshore and wanted to know if there are any particular things to look for or check before taking delivery. I sold my 07 ezgo so this isn't my first cart, but still a relative newb. I've heard that the precedent with the four 12 volt batteries have had problems, but have heard this was mainly on the 04 models. Any help in the right direction is appreciated. Thanks Ben.

Look for worn front end bushings. About the batteries, they're fine for an individual owner in most cases. It depends on what you use the car for. Just keep in mind that the 12 Volt batteries hold 10oz less water per cell than the 8 Volt batteries, so any spillage or boiling of the batteries really hurts the 12s a lot worse than it used to hurt the old 8s.... If you stay on top of your watering and don't overfill, they'll be fine. And no, it's not just in the 04 models. The batteries never changed at all until this year when they went back to 8 Volts.

I heard that CC has a conversion to be able to use the 8 volts. Is this true? Might be something to look into when battery time comes around. I drove the cart last time I was home and it rode great. My bud owns the golf cart shop I'm buying it from and wouldn't sell me junk hopefully. He's even had the level 4 code done so it scoots pretty good. Gonna throw on some 12" wheels and low profile tires, lights, and a woodgrain dash for now.

Yes they do make a kit to convert it. It's the way to go.

At this time they come from Club Car but possibly a sponsor can get these for you and be able to install it as well.

AM1275201 - Precedent 12V TO 8V Conversion Kit
103368401 - Precedent Electric Battery Bucket Assembly

Conversion package, when part numbers listed above are ordered together, includes all components and installation instruction necessary to convert a Precedent golf car to the 8-volt battery system. Components included are battery wires, hold downs, component mounting panel and shield, wire harness, charger receptacle, 4.0 OBC and safety decals. Batteries are not included!
