School of thought for electric carts and rain
Had a gasser for 6 years and it stayed outside in all kinds of weather and never seemed to have any weather/rain related issues. I don't plan to leave my electric cart out all of the time. I have a nice spot for it in my barn out back. However, as just happened 10 minutes ago, sometimes storms come out of nowhere. Of course, this happens on golf courses too. But I am wondering if there is any special care I should take to keep it from getting wet as often as possible or is it really okay if they get wet at least from rain falling on them? In other words, I know running it through a mud hole or backing it into a pond are not good things to do. But are they okay in the rain?

Re: School of thought for electric carts and rain
Ive be stuck at friends houses before in down pours and I just cover up the radio and let it get rained on. After it rains I dry it off to make it look new again, grab a cold one and go for a cruise

Keep a towel handy so you can wipe the seat and drive home after the shower!

yup, we have 8 or so golf carts at work that run 8-10 hrs a day no matter what the weather is.....but I am too anal to let mine get rained on or even drive on the wet roads as far as that goes :)

Re: School of thought for electric carts and rain
Mine gets wet. I do have a full cover for it if I'm at The Ponderosa and it rains. I usually put the cover over it at night anyway due to the dew. Then I don't have to do so much wipe down in the mornings.

I look at rain as a free wash. When it stops, bust out the chamois and wipe it down.

Re: School of thought for electric carts and rain
With experience for being caught in the rain and riding around the campground, its safe to say they will be fine in the rain. Only thing I noticed is that you lose some power due to the rain. Once it dries, its back to normal. I never had a problem with night time driving in the rain. It kinda sucks, though. :)
