Default 1997 TXT forward reverse question

I have a 97' txt that runs and drives fine except for one thing.
When you press the go pedal, it is either all power or nothing. You can tease into the throttle. It does this in forward and reverse. If you try and ease it, it will start "Jumping" in and out. If this happens, you can smell something burning and then it just dies.
After you let it sit, it runs again but does same thing.
What can this be? Why cant i ease into the throttle like any other cart?

You have a bad connection someplace. The burning smell is a wire that is loose. Check all wires and the FNR switch for loose connections.

You could have the wrong throttle input in the controller for the cart?

Where is the throttle input located?
I believe the burnung smell is from when the cart is jerking as you are trying to ease into the throttle and maybe the solonoid, controller or switch is heating up.

A TXT has an ITS throttle input. The ITS is located under the floor behind the gas peddle.
What controller specifically do you have?

A 1997 TXT could be a series drive or a DCS.
If the controller cover has a Run/Tow switch on it, it is a DCS (Sepex motor)
Need to know which type drive to troubleshoot.
