Re: EZGO PDS limp mode
Alltrax controllers should NOT be covered.
They are filled with potting compound and are waterproof, or at least water resistant and the airflow around them helps keep them cool. |

Re: EZGO PDS limp mode
JB I mostly agree. I didn’t mean to enclose it but to just put a partial cover on the top half. Won’t seal on the sides because it is too deep but protects the top of the controller and solenoid from things falling on them.

Re: EZGO PDS limp mode
I would also like to point out that I had a similar situation. It was a wire in the connector (J5 pin) that had corroded away. It would touch sometimes and sometimes it did not.

Re: EZGO PDS limp mode
I am another “golf cart does slow” Person.
My 2006 ezgo pds went into limp home mode last week. I opened it up and the small red wire going to the supply side of the solenoid was arcing to the blue wire. Here is what I have found so far. - The solenoid is good. - When I turn the key on and select forward the relay engages, before pressing the pedal - the yellow wire has supply voltage 38v. - the blue wire has 1.6 volts. Perhaps unrelated, but I ran thru the maintenance flow chart and the only odd thing I saw was the voltage between F1 And F2 is 12.75 volts. Any ideas what is wrong? Did the red to blue short damage the controller? Thanks for any advice, Lee |

In other words, the controller is shot. Replace it with an Alltrax XCT48400-PDS (or larger). |
