Like CG said, it is time to start over again.

First, let's identify which drive system you have. See attached chart.

If it is a 1996 and has a Run/Tow switch, it is a DCS, but you said you were unsure of the year.

-----------
Next, let's figure out if solenoid is clicking or not.

Place Run/Tow switch in Tow and then press pedal.

If you hear a click, it is mot coming from the solenoid because the controller energizes the solenoid and the controller is disabled when the Run/Tow is in Tow.

---------
When we has positive ID of drive type and know if solenoid is clicking when pedal is pushed or not, then we can proceed with troubleshooting.

Ok so the cart is a DCS.

I hear the clicking sound in RUN or TOW mode and it is definitely coming from below the cart.

Okay, the solenoid is not clicking.

Raise rear tires off ground and put on jackstands so half ton cart doesn't take off unexpectedly and run over somebody or something.

With Run/Tow in Run, Key ON, F/R in F and pedal pushed, what is the voltage on Pins 5, 6, 7, 9 & 10 in the 10 pin connector on top of controller with the connector connected to the controller?

All 5 wires have 38v with the pedal pushed down

Pack voltage on Pin-7 means the solenoid coil is intact and being feed the proper voltage.
Pack voltage on Pin-5 means the pedal switch is working and the controller is being told to energize the solenoid.

Therefore, the controller is not doing what it is being told to do, so it is defective.

The DCS controller was a failed design, so replace it with an Alltrax XCT.

I get just about all my stuff from here: http://www.cartsunlimited.net/Custom_Options.html

I don't see a XCT-DCS on his webpage, so give him a call or e-mail.

Thanks so much for all your help. Would this also be the correct controller?

That controller is not user programmable and uses 20 year old technology, but it will work.

The DCX/NCX family of controllers were designed to be Plug-n-Play replacements for DCS controllers.

The NCX control is not for carts with modifications like rear seat or bigger tires. It is not suitable for carts used harder than the the game of golf.
