That would be #4 and #5 on that diagram linked from scottyb site.

That would cause the cart to work the same in Reverse, but the cables would not align properly for the circuit in Forward.
Makes sense. Sometimes logic wins the day. Let us know.

I learn new things almost every day here.

Transposing A1 and S1 cables at the motor will make the cart run normally in Reverse, but in Forward the amps only go through the stator windings.

Hopefully the motor hasn't been damaged.
(It was stalled, so max current was flowing through the brushes and the non-moving commutator.)

I have checked these cables twice and they are labeled and in the correct positions but will trace them back as per wiring diagram and check them that way.

I just traced all the motor wires they are correct as per the wiring diagram the only thing I'm not sure of is when looking at the wiring diagram the picture of the switch when you look at you are looking as if it was from the front of cart not stud side? Scottyb hey on your diagram is different than ezgo wiring diagram your #4 is C on ezgo and that is going to A2, A1 goes to M-

My diagram is drawn as viewed from the rear of the car, as noted.
Some of these carts swapped A1 and A2 location with M- and F&R top location without adverse effect.

I think......think that if you swap the wiring between the EZ-GO diagram and ScottyB's, your "F" will now be a "R" and vice-versa. I believe this 'cause I think in a galaxy long, long ago when I had these dinosaur F\R switches on my TXT I actually inadvertently switched them.

I don't think it matters if you look at the F\R from the front or the back. The outcome is the same.

Editorial: The best thing to do is to trash these old F\R "break your wrist" switches on TXT models and quit running the risk of fried wiring and such. Just upgrade to ScottyB's HD or SD Contactor switches. All of this madness of wiring smelling, and my contactor is "burning" and stuff just "goes away." I mean really.....if your gonna get serious about your cart.....toss this 1939 POS engineering and upgrade to the year 2015!!!

ScottyB using your diagram my S1 and S2 are swapped on my F/R switch Ive checked wires on the motor they are in the correct spot as per the way I have labeled them before I took them off the motor. I installed the F/R switch about year ago and everything has been working up until I took the motor off to change the input shaft.
