Powerwise charger question
Long story short- thought I had determined the board was fried and ordered a new one(charger worked fine with a jumper over the relay). New board installed tonight (36 volt) and more of the same. Double checked and re cleaned male and female ends of the charger & cart... Suspected the charger was not getting a good reading from the batteries. No luck- could the new board be faulty right out of the box? Cart charges fine with the jumper- just missing the auto shutdown and know it's not a solution. Going to test another cart and charger next... Thought I'd inquire if I'm missing anything obvious.

Re: Powerwise charger question
Measure the voltage between the Red and Black wires on the control board when charger is plugged into cart, but not plugged into AC line power.
The voltage measured should be identical to whatever the battery pack voltage is at the time. The Red wire connects to the heatsink, which is connected to the positive output wire, which eventually connects to the main positive terminal on the battery pack. The Black wire connects to the third wire in the output cable, then to the Auxiliary contact in the output plug, which touches the outside of the negative terminal in the charge receptacle. |
