Open field is VERY hard on the controller! Series motor has a better chance of not killing the controller though.

JohnnieB, I am using the Innova 3310 Multimeter. When I go to "diode" mode it reads 176 instantly. When I touch the two tips together it goes to 178-179 Is this normal for this multimeter or is something wrong with it. I am trying to do the diode test on the controller to get you the correct numbers to make sure it didn't get damaged. Thanks again for all you help!

And back to the motor with the new readings...

multimeter set at 200 OHM I get 5.4 between A1&A2

the only reading I can get on S1&S2 is the meter set at 20M and I get .25

So how do those numbers look?

The diode test reading for the controller are in the ballpark, so it might be good.

The A1 - A2 reading is normal.
The S1 - S2 reading indicates open field windings. (The 250,000Ω reading is from the carbon dust from the brushes that is coating the inside of the motor case.)
