alltrax programming help ASAP!!

I'm in the process of programming my Alltrax controller for a new D&D motor and the computer is not locating the controller. I realize its a holiday but is there anyone that could please give me a call to help me out. Supposed to leave tomorrow to go hunting. I'm in a bind, it will be much appreciated. A few starter questions...

Is it a axe, dcx or the newer SPM, SPB, XCT & SRX?

Does the controller have power?

...Start the program after the controller is powered up.

Some of the cables for programming do not seem to work...

its a DCX. Those instructions on Alltrax site is what I used but it still will not work for some reason. Controller has power.

Is it possible that I do not have the cables hooked on the motor?? I left them off and taped them BC I read where you have to program the controller to map #57 bf sending power to the motor.

Also the Alltrax control pro program will not allow me to click upgrade to browse for the new map program #57. does it matter that the operating system is windows 10?

A common issue is the cable, for some reason it is picky...

Do you have one of the "good" (approved) programming cables?

Make sure it is staying plugged into the controller (I have fought with mine a few time, before making sure it was seated correctly)

I do not think it has to be hooked to the motor, as it can be benched powered and programmed.

Most of the time its a driver issue for the usb to RS232 adapter. Make sure you have the right driver installed and try again.

Also make sure you have the right build...

Controllers of 2005 and older build 38 and 2006 and newer build 39 of Controller Pro

That cable is the biggest problem and i dont think windows 10 works. I used an older computer to initially set it up and cant do it now. The driver for the cable is a pia...and when i did try to get the driver i got some trash spam from the so called driver websites. I reset the computer back to factory. Be careful where u get if u can get that driver.
