When using a DMV tester to measure the voltage on J1 Pin-2, do I simply unplug the J1 plug and insert prob in both male and female sides of Pin-2? Is it that simple? Additionally, what should the voltage read on a 36V PDS cart?

You are looking for pack voltage. Positive. Place the neg test lead on the battery pack main - and the pos. test lead on the battery pack +. This is the pack reading, it should be between 36 and 38v or so.

keep the - test lead on the pack - and probe the J1 pins. With the key on, cart in gear(F), you should find power at every pin with a red line to it below. AND the solenoid should click.

No.

With the connectors connected to the controller, insert the probe tip into the backside on the MOLEX connector.

If I put one probe in the J1 Pin #2, where does the other probe go?

I have power to the J1 plug pin 2, 4, 7, 8, but not 9 when powered in forward. What does that tell us?

Pin 9 is the key switch loop, either it is intermittent or you got a bad reading. I suppose it is possible the control is failing to power the key in one direction but it is not very common. Can you retest a FEW times to be sure power's consistently not there?

Can you confirm no power on 9 and 8 ? If yes then I feel the control has failed.
