Re: EZGO DCS dead
Don't use the tone setting use the Ω setting it is more accurate.
Yes disconnect the motor wires for testing. If the motor is shorted out and you replace the control the motor can ruin the new control. |

I had to take one battery out to reach the motor studs...
I Removed all cables from motor... S1 to S2 I get continuity A1 to A2 I get continuity No continuity from any A to any S Am I suppose to check S1 and S2 to the frame or motor case? Or A1 and A2 to the frame or motor case? Also, before removing cables from motor, i did check continuity for controller F1 to frame and F2 to frame and got no continuity. Re: EZGO DCS dead
You should not get continuity between any of the four studs and the motor case. Unfortunately, resistances are small between A1,A2 and S1,S2 so it is hard to tell if there is a short there.

Re: EZGO DCS dead
I dont know about the short or bad smell, but check the 18 guage wire coming out of the charging port. There is a spade connection there and it could be loose or corroded. It happened to me recently.

Re: EZGO DCS dead
It looks like the motor is okay, And it looks like the Field wires F1 and F2 are okay (notorious trouble spot for TXT). Since the battery is out now is a good time for a visual inspection where the F wires bend around the rear corner of the battery rack.
Beginning to sound like the controller went kaput. |

Should I try at this point to contact Alltrax about the controller?
Also another question.... This is something that looks like it could take at least a week or more or sometime to work through. Is it safe to have all the batteries reconnected and with run/tow in tow mode with the key off and put a charge on my batteries?...just to keep them charged up? Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk |

In testing motor...continuity...
I understand there should be continuity between S1 and S2 and between A1 and A2. Should i do a continuity test from S1 or S2 to motor case? If there is continuity does this mean the motor is bad? Is this a test that matters or rely on? Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk |

Re: EZGO DCS dead
There should be no continuity between any post and the case, however sometimes carbon dust (brush wear) will give an insignificant continuity reading .

After these test results, I now wonder what caused the problem?
I guess it is possible the controller just fried? Is it possible the smell is coming from the selinoid ? I guess I am in for a phone call with Alltrax... Wonder how their customer service is... Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk |
