06 Precedent Brake Lights
I bought the GTW LED kit for my cart. I have everything wired up except the brake lights. I can’t figure it out... the GTW diagram states to plug what looks like the brake light wires to a red & yellow wire to the cart..I don’t have a red or yellow wire... the diagram looks to be a plug n play however my cart doesn’t have those type connections as in the GTW kit...I rung out two wires that go to the brake lights, an orange, no power and a dark blue which has 12V. I tried using these two but couldn’t get it to work....
Any thoughts? |

Re: 06 Precedent Brake Lights
Did the kit come with a light kit harness?
Or just the lights? |

Re: 06 Precedent Brake Lights
Hello All.... The Kit was an LED GTW kit. It was suppose to be plug n play but the wires for the brake aren't what the directions indicate. I have some basic electrical skills but just can't figure this one out..... I traced the orange & dark blue wire back to the tail lights. The others I was unable to figure out where they go.....The Dark blue one has 12V & orange nothing... If the brake peddle is like a switch I should be able to connect the hot & ground and be good to go...right??

Re: 06 Precedent Brake Lights
the kit just had the lights & was suppose to plug directly into your existing harness. I think she got it from Buggies Unlimited? It was a Christmas gift from wife....

Re: 06 Precedent Brake Lights
You are missing the brake relay but You don't need one if your +12v source turns ON/OFF with the key switch.

Re: 06 Precedent Brake Lights
Sergio is right. You need a 48 volt relay.

Re: 06 Precedent Brake Lights
No the pwr is there all the time... didn't realize I needed to have the key switch on & cart in run mode....they have both been off... This relay that I need, It plugs into the brake pad? The brake pad I have only has two wires, I don't recall the colors......
