Question Powerwise QE charger-no charge-who can repair ???

I have a 2008 Powerwise QE onboard charger that won't charge and is giving me 6 red flashes . The 6 red flashes are with or without AC plugged in. I found information on line that the 6 red flashes mean something is wrong internally. Circuit board is very clean internally with no blown fuses or burnt parts. I'm thinking it may be something simple but can't find any information on who can repair. I'm looking for some suggestions as to where to go next here. Buying a new charger would really suck as this one is only 3 or 4 yrs. old and used very little. Thanks - RAY

Have you tried unplugging from cart and then plugging back into cart?
That's what the Ops manual says to try.

Other than that, give them a call, (800) 241-5855.

Does it look like this one?

If so, I've been told they are throw away chargers.
I haven't found any info on them at all.

Thanks for the responses, guys. Yes, that's the same charger that I have!! After talking to our local dealer, he confirms that these chargers are not repairable and considered disposable. He also confirms that EZGO is having a huge problem with these chargers going bad. The dealer said that 8 out the last 10 chargers he received with off lease carts were bad. EZGO replaced those for him, but he is a dealer. I think EZGO should offer something to customers who have these pieces of crap that go bad. IMHO a $400, 3 or 4 year old charger should not be considered a disposable item. Let's see, how much is that per charge ?? Thanks again - RAY

We are a throw away society anymore! I have two chargers that are 20 + years old and one that is 6yrs old. The 2 that are 20 + have never needed any repairs! The lestronic II has had a diode assembly replaced! I see this with everything made today. It's technologically wonderful, but made of crap! I have a Zenith tv set that was made in 1986, and works perfectly! My neighbors " new " flat screen tv, that's 2 yrs old just puked and can't be repaired for any less that buying a new one! Sorry for the rant, but when electronic stuff was made in our country or Japan, it lasted!!!

What simple man said

The older Lestronic, Total Charge, PowerWise and similar chargers are tanks.
Unless you let the smoke out of the transformer, they can be repaired.

Ray - If you can find one of the older one floating around, latch onto it.

If you

Mine is less than a year old. It's 48 volts. I use it for back up not regular. I hope it last awhile longer.
I'm always looking for chargers.

Thumbs down Re: Powerwise QE charger-no charge-who can repair ???

I opened mine up back when I first got it. It's controll board is covered in the stuff best I remember. I know I asked Grahams here at the beach about them. They said the same thing. When it quits buy a new one.

Save the heat sink. It should be good for something, like a controller!
