Glad to help!

I just wanted to be able to verify that my "ear" was right...I don't need to fixate on the doggone thing and don't really need an $80 expense so it fit my purpose exactly and I figured I wasn't the only one who was looking.

I can tell you that the limit for a 86 (and they must be the same) is, according to the manual 5000 rpm. I installed the tachometer a while ago and flat out on the level I run at about 4250 rpm. I am guessing that with 22 inch tires I have increased the gearing and lowered the max rpm which is fine with me.

BTW the one I bought allowed you to set the number of sparks per revolution which means it will work on 2 strokes and 4 strokes.

Good to know that 5K thing...Thanks!

And yes this one is also programmable to allow one or two sparks per revolution.

Ok.. My cart is an 89 according to the mfg code but it must be early 89 ('88 1/2 ) because it's a 2PG setup. The manuals I have are for 89-93 and make no mention of the 2PG motor...only 3PG and electric. In the "E-Z-Go Owner's operation and service manual" on page H1 it says that for the 3PG motor the max RPM is 4000

So if the max for a 2PG is 5K I guess there's more that's different than the motor orientation and carb/exhaust ?

Enquiring minds want to know!

Pretty cool! I like the idea of the hour meter to us as a gas gauge & oil changes. Thanks
