Default Aux battery with relay?

Has anyone ever wired up an aux 12V battery with a relay so that some things will be turned off with the key switch? Is a relay even necessary? How much current can a stock key switch handle? I want my light bar/headlights/tail lights/horn to shut off with the key and I want the (future) stereo to stay on.

Would this work?

Also what chargers do you guys use?
This one looks like it would work well. I'm liking the dashmount adapter. It makes it easy to plug in and also has a battery life indicator.

The Relay coil needs to match your pack voltage, it will only draw about 0.02Amps from the key switch:

You also need a flyback diode in parallel with the relay coil, the cathode (end with a stripe) goes towards the positive activation wire.

Wire the relay coil to the key switch like this:

That NOCO charger should work fine.

Thank you for the information. I'm in the process of getting the parts ordered. What are others using to hold down the battery? Unfortunately a box won't work since there would be no room to take the battery in/out. Is something like this my only choice?
