2005 Club Car DS will not go
I rinsed of my 2005 48 volt DS cart last night and then drove it into the storage building for the night and connected the charger. This morning I disconnected the charger and turned it on and heard the usual click of the controller but it will not move in forward or reverse. Good batteries that are only a couple months old. Not sure where to start looking. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Re: 2005 Club Car DS will not go
I couldn't edit my post to add that the alltrax controller light turns green when the cart is switched on and flashes 6 or 7 times when the pedal is pressed forward or reverse. Could the solenoid have gotten wet or something else? I did not wet the controller. Thanks

Re: 2005 Club Car DS will not go
I tried it this morning and it worked fine so I guess i must have gotten something wet.

Some of those micro switches and wiring can be sensitive when wet.

Quote:
The FWD and REV switches in the MCOR were recognized by the controller which are 1 of 5 inputs the controller needs to latch the solenoid. If FWD/REV was not working until everything had a chance to dry out there was probably water in the MCOR. Once the solenoid is latched, the controller will look at the MCOR wiper to determine how much current to supply the motor. If there was water in the MCOR the input for speed to the controller was probably bad. |

Re: 2005 Club Car DS will not go
The problem has occurred again. 7 red flashes on controller all wires are good so when I checked the battery pack it is at 88volts!! Is it my charger or something else? How can I drain the pack to normal range. How do I reduce the pack voltage? Thanks

What charger do you have and what kind of batteries do you have?
The grand majority of battery chargers will not go above 72v, so unless you have something we've never heard of/seen? I would think your volt meter is lying or batteries in the meter may be dead. |

Clubcar Power Drive 2 charger and 6 month old Trojan T-875s
I'm asking a friend to bring his known working VM. I wonder if sitting for about a week last time let some pack drain to get my controller to stop showing 7 red flashes and that was why it suddenly worked. I put it back on the charger after using it yesterday now this again. Just checked pack voltage with good VM = 51.6 volts |

Re: 2005 Club Car DS will not go
There is an over voltage setting that can be changed on the Alltrax, and I've heard of that once or twice being a problem when the cart comes off a fresh charge.
But at 52v the cart should work fine unless someone put that setting ridiculously low. Green flashes show what throttle setting it has. 7 Green Flashes means it's set to the Club Car throttle type. There's no error code for 7 Red flashes, but the closest ones are 1 Green and 6 Red, Pre-Charge Failure or 2 Green and 6 Red, Low Throttle Under range The Pre-charge Failure code seems to be relatively common, and can either mean the solenoid is welded shut, or the diode across the larger posts on the solenoid has failed. |
