Do these values sound right to you?
My cart is just barely dragging along...so I went in with my DVM and these are the numbers im getting:
Switch off F/R in F tested B- and M- no pedal 37.7V Switch on F/R in F tested B- and M- pedal pressed 38.7V Should I be getting that voltage with the switch off and no pedal??? and would a faulty switch cause my cart to barely move (like 4-5mph)? also this is on a battery pack of 38.7V |

You don't say anything about cart model, year or model. It sounds like the speed sensor on the motor is bad.

Re: Do these values sound right to you?
So it's an 01 txt. Is it a sepex or series? I thought all the series versions stopped before then but I'm not sure.
When you are in the cart and accelerate what is the pack V? I know sitting there with no load it's 38.7 but wondering if there's an issue when under load. Also the pre-charge resistor on the solenoid will let some voltage across even with the key off and pedal up. I don't know if that's the cause of your 37.7V reading or not though. |

Re: Do these values sound right to you?
If there is a resistor connected between the solenoid's two large terminals, then there will be a voltage between B- and M- with the pedal up as long as the battery pack is connected.
The 1V less than full battery pack voltage reading you're getting is fairly typical for having a 250Ω pre-charge resistor installed on the solenoid. The low speed issue can be caused by several things depending on the drive type. Does your cart have a series drive or is it a PDS (sepex drive)? |
