Default hei conversion ? for 91 marathon

I'm a little stumped... Working on converting my 91 marathon to HEI, but I have come to find that the colors of the wiring in the diagram in the sticky thread differ from my cart. Also, correct me if I'm wrong, are we bypassing the use of the voltage regulator with this mod? Or are the "solenoid" wires in the diagram meant to be coming from the regulator? Either way, it's not adding up after a couple hours of deliberation now. Any help would be great.

Diesel Welcome to BGW Don't worry about wire colors just follow the diagram and add your wires. No your not doing anything to the regulator except adding a ground wire to the - terminal of the regulator posted. As for the pulser wires if they are a different color don't be concerned ether way as you may have to reverse them on the module for it to run proper. A tip make sure the module is mounted to a clean surface and cut the 2 small tab off of the backside of the module so it will sit flat on the surface. Look at the module and you'll see a grounding tab in one of the bolt holes be sure to put a ground wire on this bolt or screw and you can go straight to frame ground this is important to be grounded.

Thanks for the input, I was finally able to figure it out once I labeled my solenoid. I used the factory wiring that was already there for my quote-unquote red/yellow and green wire . She runs great now. My module didn't have any extra ground tab, just brass eyelets in the mounting holes. It is mounted directly to the frame on the flat surface below the voltage regulator.

Good you have it going. If you were to look closely at the two eyelets you will see a small strap on one of them I just mentioned it because adding a ground wire to it is just security ok. I like redundancy.
