Converting to gas will require a transaxle from a gas cart for the best results on the conversion. Electric to gas is a much bigger job than most bargain for.

What is the difference in they to types of breaks ? I just bought a 1974 today that says it has mercury breaks ?

93, I hear you on the gas conversion effort. I have a fairly well equipped shop with welding/cutting/ bending capabilities and a friend that can do some basic machining but would still save a lot of time and expense just starting with the gas job.
