Default State of charge meter pros and cons

Hi everyone,

I am looking to buy a state of charge meter for my 48 volt club car. Can any one explain which meter is better between a digital or analog?

Thanks!

You want a waterproof digital volt meter. Anything else and you'll just be guessing.

Analog meter with a needle is okay, you can learn to interpret those okay. Bar graph meters are very deceiving in so much as they go to 100% each time the charger is plugged in regardless of the condition of the batteries.

The digital LED voltmeters are real-time data.

So I have the meter from Scotty half way installed, and i want to have the meter only work when the key is on. From the attached pictures, when do you tap in to the neg wire?
