The diagram you posted is for a different cart. Your Series drive cart uses the basic set up below.
Red wire to the post on the key switch that is on /off with the key and the black wire goes to the battery pack main negative (-). If you wish to connect at the F&R micro switch on the F&R it will turn off in neutral. |

I would strongly suggest that you hook the meter up directly to the batteries as this will allow you to at any given time see the voltage in your batteries no matter if is key on or key off, including when you are plugged into the charger. The draw of these meters is tiny and in no way will it hasten battery drain. If you really want to be able to turn on/off just add a switch to do so. I can tell you that I look at the voltage meter every time I walk by my cart while it is parked in the garage...

Thanks guys, I ended up hooking it up to the key switch and love having a "gas" gauge.
Next mods include a light bar and tail lights for the dirt roads. |
