Brake system for belt drive electric Taylor Dunn
I purchased a 1980 Taylor Dunn Tee-Bird GT-371 a few months back. I am new to carting, but I am mechanically inclined. I see that the brake shoe / mechanism surrounds the pulley between the belts and the differential. Is anyone familiar with this set-up? Is there some type of brake pad inside the metal cuff? It has a spring tension adjusting bolt and a sleeve all around the pulley until the cotter pin. When I press the brake pedal, the device tightens around the pulley.
