Default Cart beeping with key off, but runs great.

Hello, thank you in advance for any advice! I have a 2007 electric Club Car Precedent IQ. The cart runs great, but will not stop beeping, even with the key off. I have tried to clean the fwd/rev switch, but it beeps even with all three wires disconnected. It is a series of beeps while stopped, a solid beep/tone while backing up in reverse. It does stop while driving, but will start beeping again when I come to a complete stop. If I put it in TOW the beeping will stop as well. If I have it in RUN and plug in the battery charger it stops beeping then too. I have traced the two wires that plug into the beeper and they do not look frayed anywhere. One of the wires is orange with a white stripe and seems to plug into the controller (Curtis 1510a-5250) at the large pin connector. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

It is picking up the roll-away braking unless there is stray voltage doing it, but your checks ruled that out. Did it happen all at once or has always been that way with you?

With the Fwd/Rev switch removed and still does it tells me the speed switch on the motor is sending a signal to the controller (which it can't if it is not moving) or the controller is failing as it thinks the solenoid is not engaged and the cart is moving, which will trigger the roll-away alarm.....

I bought the cart used and not working at the time, so no clue how long it has done this. All I have done mechanically is put in new batteries. Just so we're clear, are you saying it could be the speed switch? Or the Controller of course. If it could be the speed switch, I may just throw that part at it and see what happens since it's much cheaper than a new controller.

If it is the speed sensor, wouldn't it stop beeping with the sensor unplugged? I just unplugged it and it is still beeping so now I am leaning towards just replacing the controller and crossing my fingers...

Just replacing the controller? If the cart is running perfectly and it's just the beeping I would rule out everything else before doing that.

Try unplugging the MCOR and see if it goes away. If it does check the resistance, it should be 6K to about 200 ohms.

I unplugged the MCOR and the beeping continues. My OCD wants to fix the problem, but as ogre mentioned I could just unplug the beeper. Riddle me this...Something is causing the controller (or the controller itself) to send power to the beeper...so if I unplug the beeper, wont I still lose battery power over time? Sorry if this is a stupid question. Any other things that could cause this?

You could try this. Get you a spray can of CRC QD Electronic Cleaner it's in a red can at O'Reilly's or other Auto Parts Stores. Pull the connectors apart especially the connector on the controller and spray the connections.

I think you have something shorting out in the key switch. Check closely.

Does the solenoid click normally? Does it run without the key on?
