Should be fine if it is fully charging the pack and cutting off on its own. The OBC senses the pack and the algorithm controls the charging characteristics.

Re: 17935 powerdyne amp meter fluctuating
The issue is that the current should go to 15 amps, even if the batteries are fully charged since the charger voltage should be a lot higher than a fully charged pack (at rest).
Could be a weak(s) battery, charger malfunction or OBC malfunction. Probably the easiest way to eliminates/test the OBC is to run the negative charging cable directly to pack negative. If the current on the charger then goes to 15 amps, the OBC is the problem. If the current does not increase, test the batteries near the end of the charge to see if one is not keeping up in voltage with the other ones. |

Re: 17935 powerdyne amp meter fluctuating
well,i found one batt that was suspect,so replaced with good used one.The charger amp meter seemed to stabalize better, but this time i hooked up the fluke DOM,so i could monitor charging.I did notice the amp meter went up to 16 amps this time.when it came down to 5-6 amps i noticed the voltage jumping around 3-4 tenths momentarily, then it would stabilize for about a minute, then cycle back to the 3-4 tenth jump..kept cycling like that?

Re: 17935 powerdyne amp meter fluctuating
If the voltage is around 57v, that means the OBC is regulating the current to keep it in the "absorption" voltage range.

Nothing wrong with that OBC.... (Unless it quits turning off....)
