Charger will not turn off NEW BATTERIES
We replaced all our batteries on our 2001 Club Car. We started the initial charge, but before it was at a full charge, my daughter took it for a very short drive.
Now,the charger will not shut off. It has gone as long as 15 hours on a continuous charge with no shut off. The charger gets as low as 4 amps, but never shuts off. Any advice greatly appreciated! |

Re: Charger will not turn off NEW BATTERIES
The OBC can run the charger for up to 16 hours before it times out.
New batteries should typically be at a full charge in a few hours but the OBC has to “learn” how the new batteries will react to charging, and some batteries may take longer depending on AH capacity and initial State of Charge. Let it keep charging, but keep an eye on it. If it goes longer than say 17 hours, theres a good chance the OBC has failed. Did you replace any battery cables with the batteries? The packs main negative cable must pass through the hole in the center of the OBC in order for it to charge properly. |
