Default 2010 CC DS throwing main drop out fault

and i've already replaced the solenoid. This is the first time I've not been able to clear this up with a solenoid replacement. I've heard there are diodes in the harness that go bad and may cause this issue? If so what is the fix? Eliminate the diode? Replace with another harness?

If the diode has failed and it is shorted You will have the problem.

The diode was removed from the harness after changes made to the Controller for the 2011 DS model.

The diodes below work:

Follow the Blue wire from the Tow/Run switch and you will see the diode in the diagram below:

With pack negative disconnected and the run/tow switch in the ON position And my probes on pack POSITIVE and the gray #9 wire this is the reading I’m getting

I get this same reading when I switch my leads also. Btw this cart WILL run about 10 ft before cutting off.

Yep, the diode has failed and when that happens the Controller gets a false error when switching from Regen that it gets interpreted as a main dropout.

Adding a diode or the Club Car "dropout harness" should fix the issue.

Yeah I must have an odd model (my luck) because I don’t have a blue wire coming off the run tow/switch and don’t have a diode anywhere like in the diagram

That is OK, You do not have to remove the old diode, just install a new one anywhere in that pin #9 circuit.

Test the harness connector where that Tow/Run switch plugs into.

One wire will have +48v as it comes from the battery and the other one that goes towards the Controller pin #9 will have 0v.

The diode gets installed with the banded side towards the Controller pin #9.

You can also cut the gray wire and install the diode with the banded side towards the Controller pin #9.

I will look if I have a newer 2010 DS wiring diagram.

I put this 2010-2011 DS wiring diagram together, perhaps it matches your wiring better.

You can see the diode is on the gray wire which is a better location as it only handles the Controller aux power which can be high during walk away brake.
