Serious Up Grading for Club Car
Ok I’m committing to up grade this OL girl. And I’m ready to drop some dollars in it. Its old so I’m not sure what the possibilities are. Controller,? Solenoid? Motor?
Should or can I go with a AC conversion? It’s a 92 with the resistor style on it. Also wanting to up grade the old Jakes 6” lift to a good Long Arm kit. Recommendations appreciated. I want it blowed out as wide as possible. Sure I could buy a new one but then I would just blend in with every one else on the island. I like the old classic look. |

Thank you Nole. Yes we do have a 600 amp (680 peak) solid state conversion kit for this cart with reversing contactor kit and Admiral A1 motor. The kit does very well with big tires and 48 volts.

Re: Serious Up Grading for Club Car
You can do the solid state conversion first, then switch over to 48v later. That's how I did it. (it was in an effort to ease my wife into the financial end of the upgrades) I only had to swap out a diode at the solenoid when I did the voltage conversion, other than batteries and charger of course. The solid state conversion at 36v made a noticeable improvement on mine. The 48v conversion and Admiral Mot-a1 made it even better!!
