Default 2000 club car feels like motor brake

I have a 2000 club car, with your foot on the throttle at any speed it will suddenly come to a quick stop; even though the throttle is still down. Let off the throttle and step on it again and it's fine then suddenly it does it again. Gets more frequent the warmer it gets. Feels like a motor brake, nothing to do with foot brake. Any suggestions

That is a strange one. Is this a Regen 2 cart?

I know the issue was with 2002 DS - but sounds a lot like solenoid drop-out. I wonder if his main solenoid is just starting to fail?

It seems to stop to abruptly,it doesntjust slow down like you've lost power, how does the motor brake work? What controls it? Could it be the controller?

Try unplugging the 3 pin motor speed sensor and leave it disconnected. On a Regen 2 that eliminates dynamic braking without impacting other performance features. I'm not sure that will fix it, but it will eliminate one (potential) failure. Controllers can certainly do something like that - but it's best to eliminate other factors first.

The 2000 Regen model should still have two Solenoids since the Dynamic brake solenoid was not removed until the 0106 model.

While Regen brake is not that strong in those old models, the Dynamic brake is very hard without a resistor.

Disconnecting the speed sensor should stop Motor brake in case the OBC is failing to allow the Controller to engage Regen brake and the Dynamic brake resistor has been removed or by-passed.

I have seen that occur if the dynamic brake solenoid was bypassed and the speed sensor still hooked up. It would try to throw you out the windshield....

That would disconnect the Motor A2 terminal from the Controller and the motor would freewheel.
