Default New here, New project Club Car, Advice?

Hey guys, looks like i hopefully will be in the club again. Its been almost 20 years since ive owned a golf cart. This one oh boy is a project though.

So you know, ill verify the year, but shes an oldie. A friend had it sitting in his garage for a few years and he gave it to me for 300 bucks. Were not sure it even works, but at 300 bucks I couldnt pass.

My question to you guys, is where do you buy parts, it needs new seats as the wood is rotted. I need to get new batteries as well, but im not sure if itll even work. I dont mind building it, but it just seemed crazy to pass up a club car for 300 bucks. Any suggestions on where i should start and such, any recommendations of who to buy from. I am located in Miami, fl. and I first timer.

Hello LEMANS. First things first. What year is the cart? Voltage? Controller or resistor etc.?

I was just saying, if I was gonna go from scratch I would start with lithium batteries. You’ll end up getting them anyways. Will need to do tons of research though...

Ill let you guys know tomm, but honestly im not sure how to figure any of that out. The year ive read that its either under the seat or in the glove box area so Ill find that out for you.

How do i find out voltage, controller, resistor? This thing is to go around my neighborhood and sometimes bring it with me to disney world to drive around for wilderness.

When I run into a project like that, I use three (or 4 on a 48v) 12 volt batteries (I always have some laying around) sizes don’t matter, a few jumper cables and see if it even works or at least get an idea if it will stay electric or turn into parts or a gas cart....
that’s my 2cents, but at least you’ll have an idea where your at before throwing money at it.

Look just below and to the right of the steering column. There should be a plate and/or a label. Give us the first letter and first 4 numbers. That will tell a lot. Photos help too.

LEMANS forget about lithium for now. You don't even know what you have yet.
