Checking the 36V charger for '73 cushman
I just tried to check the charger for the '73 I aquired and it shows nothing. This, however, may be due to the fact that I just put a meter on the prongs of the plug to test it and it may need to be hooked up to excite the charger before it will kick it. I am hesitant to just plug it in and try it as I have wired the unit from scratch and may have the polarity reversed going to the plug receiver. The cart only works in reverse right now and though that is likely a separate issue I don't want to just jump in and fry something. Anyone know if the charger must be excited first &/or which prong should be negative (or which wire of the plug receiver, top or bottom should be negative)?
Thanks. |
