I have a old Legend cart and have melted two terminals.
Ok well Im new to the hole golf cart thing. I bought an old legend for my kids and after having it for about two weeks had to replace a battery because the terminal melted through the casing. replaced the Trojan pacer batteries with Interstate 6V's and melted another one. the cable coming from the engine gets very hot including the terminal granted the kids drive it alot more than you would for 18 holes. What could be causing the cables to get so hot to melt the terminals? After just ten minutes of driving the terminal will burn to the touch, the cable is a little pitted but tight.

There may be a motor problem causing it to draw too much amperage. Maybe worn out or too much load?
The cable itself if clean and tight may be corroded on inside or just too small a gauge? |

OK we I am going to try to get some new cables for it and try that, is there a way to check to see how much and if the motor is drawing to much amperage like using a voltameter or something.
