Newbie Wondering Which Cart and # of Batteries?
Hello!
I'm a newbie who's done some ATV custom fab work for fun in the past. I'm wanting to buy an electric cart and eventually do some custom stuff, but don't know anything about electric! First, I'm looking for mostly top speed not torque. Second, if I get a 36V can I use, for example, 3 12V batteries instead of 6 6V that a cart might come stock with? Weight and space will be crucial in some future designs I have in mind. Would performance suffer as a result of fewer batteries? Finally, would I get much better performance out of a 48V system? Any recommendations at all, please let me know! Thank you! John |

Welcome to BGW. Sepex carts make more speed than series carts. So first read up on the different drive systems. Then study on batteries, Amp hour rating is king. GC batteries have thicker plates than any other type, substitution will disappoint.
There is lots of good information here. |
