78 Taylor Dunn Tee Bird

Hi

I recently purchased a 78 TD tee-bird at a garage sale. When i say "recently" i mean like 3 days ago. Up until then i had never been in a golf cart. I have absolutely no clue on what i should do to maintain this thing. I've been searching around and most of the info is way over my head. i have no experience with cars or batteries. I just loved this cart so i had to scoop it up. So far I've charged it and taken it out a couple of times. everything seems OK but i'm just not sure if how i should be taking care of it.

anyone able to give me the absolute basics on checking this thing and maintaining it? Your help if very appreciated!!

Now i just need to figure out how to do those things.

I did a quick google search and got a little nervous since part of the instructions on adding water to a batt required protective goggles! eek. i prob sound silly but i'm just afraid i'll end up ruining it!

this question might get a laugh: do i have to actually remove the batts from the cart to check the water levels?
