Re: Inductive Throttle Sensor
JonnieB, I have a SPM controller (SPM48500EZ) with ITS not an AXE. Any idea what setting to look at and play with? I just updated the software and was getting ready to see if I can get this jumping to go away.

Re: Inductive Throttle Sensor
Quote:
1. Throttle Rate. This is how fast the controller responds to a change in the physical position of the pedal. With this control, you can adjust the way the cart accelerates from a standstill from something as sluggish as a 1961 International Harvester Scout with a152 CID four-banger to something more akin to a muscle car with a 427 CID V8. Set it at 85% and above, and you probably won't be able to touch the pedal gingerly enough to take off without spinning the tires or doing a wheelie. Set it at 5% and and below, and you probably won't slosh the beverage out of a full glass sitting in the cup-holder. 2. Throttle Linearity Curve. 3. Throttle Speed Curve 4. Throttle Torque Curve. These three curves are cover pretty well in the attached manual. The Throttle rate adjustment will probably get rid of the jumping, but you may want to tweak the curves for your tire size, terrain and motor. You may want to contact scottyb, he has a lot more knowledge about programming SPM controllers than I do. |

Re: Inductive Throttle Sensor
I dicked around with it and it seems that 20% for the Throttle rate is about right there where it needs to be. I was playing golf and my partner that was sitting in the passenger east (every passenger drives from the passenger seat when they are r qui red to drive a short distance) hit my gas pedal and I heard that aweful noise and when I turned around it was bucking like a bronco again! But the guy was in a position where he could not get his foot off the gas. It is just weird how it starts like that and will not stop until you let off the gas pedal.
We will see if this works but the test drive seemed to work just fine. |

Re: Inductive Throttle Sensor
JumpiNg back to the previous discussion, but does anyone know if the ferrous throttle plunger in a series Dcs cart and the ferrous throttle plunger in a PDS cart are the same? I’ve been converting a lot of old Medalist carts to PDS (mainly because I have a ton of PDS controllers) and even though I’ve been changing the induction coils I haven’t been changing the plungers. Any experts know?
