Default club car key and microswitch issues

I have a 1996 club car DS 48 electric golf cart. Do you know how I can check the key switch and the micro switch that's on the forward and reverse switch? The cart stopped working and I thought it was the solenoid but I tested it and it appears to be ok. All 6 of the 8 volt batteries are fully charged. Before it stopped working I would have to wiggle the forward and reverse switch around to get it to go and also it would run with the key turned off. I get no hum or anything when key turned on. I tested the solenoid with volt meter and I'm not getting power to it. I think that it has something to do with the key switch or the micro switch or the wires in between key switch and solenoid. Any suggestions?

There should be a blue and green wire on the ignition. You can connect them with the switch removed to have a constant on. The micro switches sound like the culprit though. You can actuate them manually with your finger.

Thanks for your help! I tested the key switch and it works, did not need to jump wires. Then I checked the micro switch under driver pedal, pressed pedal down, no change on digital tester. I accidentally broke off the tabs when reconnecting wires, so I jumped them and bypassed the micro switch. Cart still not running. Next, I jumped the green wire to the white wire on one of the three micro switches on the f-n-r switch and now the solenoid clicked for the first time since it died, but cart still won't run. I did replace the solenoid, since it died, with one a friend gave me, maybe I should put mine back on and try it? Not sure what to do next, I have been trying everything possible to get this cart running again. Any more suggestions? Again, thank you so much for helping me and this website has helped so much with all the info.

Thanks for your reply. I have a pot box not a vglide. The micro switch on the pot box is the one that I accidentally broke off the two tabs where the wires connect, so I jumped those two wires together and bypassed the switch.
The other issue I found was the micro switch that's attached to the f-n-r switch that has black, green, white wires was not showing continuity so I read some info on this site and jumped green wire to white wire and that finally got the solenoid to click when I put in F or R. Should it still run without the pot box micro switch or you think I have another issue?

check to f/r switch also. It could be that it is not making contact.

Sometimes, if the f/r is the problem, i turn the key on, put it in forward, mash the pedal, and then take my fist and bang on the body, right next to the f/r.

Many times when i have done this, the cart jumps or takes off after banging on it. Then i know the problem is in the f/r.
