Clutch bolt size 83 EZGO gas cart
Hi,
This is my first post to the forum. Yesterday we picked up an EZGO 1983 gas golf cart. It has a number of minor problems the first of which is the clutch bolt is missing and the clutch assembly is loose. What are the specifications for the bolt? It looks like it should be about 6 to 7 inches long and about 3/8 to 7/16 inch in diameter. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Brad |

I know this is an old thread. Just went through this though. Specs call for tightening the clutch bolt to 40-44 ft. lbs (54-60 Nm.) The original (factory) bolt is 6" long (7/16" x 20 x 6".) There also should be a lock washer between the bolt head and the pilot (flat) washer.

The large washer with the cuts or notches in it.... That's actually a part of the rear motor mount system that somebody has used as a washer

You're lucky I spotted your post. It's up in the sticky section where nobody looks.
This 85 manual will work for most of your cart. Your muffler, and manifold pipe are different from every other year. The wiring is the same. If you have questions, start a new thread. It's much easier to follow. |
