Default HD Rear Leaf Springs

So I put the rear seat on my cart right after Christmas. Today I ordered some heavy duty leaf springs. Just for the fun of it I went to Youtube to see if there were any videos replacing the springs. I know it's pretty self explanatory but never hurts to watch. The main video I found was DIY Garage changing the springs on a president. Once he installed the HD springs...he said it was okay to leave the shocks off. So he did. My question is this the same for a DS? Do I need the shocks if I have HD springs? Pros and Cons?

Shocks would help reduce the rebound of the leaf spring. Know a few guys who don't use shocks on their Carryalls with HD springs and you can feel the difference between shocks and no shocks. Try it both ways and see how you like the feel. I prefer shocks especially without HD leafs.. Just preference.

Club Car seems to think shocks are needed.
