Re: 2019 ezgo efi won't start
Thanks for the info meimk. I have spent some time trying to source this part and pretty much the same results. Did the coil fix your problem? I really don't want to wait for 2 months on a part that doesn't fix the problem.

Re: 2019 ezgo efi won't start
The cart I was working on was several years old. The spade terminal for the "kill" wire rusted and came apart. The cart would run with the old coil, just didn't want to shut off. Cart in general looks like they tend to run through a fair bit of water & mud.
For what it's worth, we've brought a bunch of these Kawasaki powered TXT's into our area over the last several years and this is the first one of these coils we've had to replace. I certainly wouldn't consider it a high failure rate item. Last edited by meimk; 08-31-2021 at 08:06 PM.. Reason: Additional info |

Re: 2019 ezgo efi won't start
I totally agree on the coil being a high failure item. That's has me concerned. I reached out to the service manager to try and prove the part bad so we're not waiting around for a part that's not going to fix anything. I realize a combustible engine needs 3 things to run, air, spark and fuel. if it doesn't run one of those items are missing so I'm not doubting that the spark is missing. I'm just not convinced it's the coil. Having said that I'm not the cart specialist so I'm trying to stay in my lane. Thanks meimk for your input.

Re: 2019 ezgo efi won't start
FYI: I have had to replace the stop relay on a couple of carts. When they fail they can interrupt the spark. EZGO # 603282

Re: 2019 ezgo efi won't start
The cart with the coil issue is an EX1 isnt it? If it is the EX1, then the coil may have failed. Ive seen it a few times but I work at a dealership that sees hundreds of carts a week. I would not consider it a high failure item. If the cart tries to run but doesnt fire than its almost always the coil. If not that than its the pulsar on the stator but that has been once in over a year. They can test by taking a coil off another working cart to see if yours runs. if it does than you know its the coil and not the pulsar. There is literally only 2 tiny bolts that hold the coil on. It can be changed in less than 1 minute.

Re: 2019 ezgo efi won't start
Thanks for all the input guys. Scott, I recommended to them what you said. Maybe they did it I don't know. they are convinced it's the coil. After beating on EZGO they informed yesterday that my part was being processed for shipment. Not sure what that really means since the last 45 days it's been in the process of being shipped. I will have to wait and see. I will keep you posted on the outcome.

Re: 2019 ezgo efi won't start
I had this same issues, Golf cart company had it for 3 months and couldn't figure it out.. After Taking the entire cart apart and tracing every wire, there are 2 possible issues.
1. The EFI/ Carb part or the wiring harness is bad. Is the Fuel Pump / little red indicator light turning on?. My are efi connector ended up shorting out and I had to get a new one which solved the issues for a few months.MAKE SURE TO CHECK ALL THE CONNECTORS IN THE WIRING HARNESS, for some reason they seen to get loose. 2. Check the magneto mounted above the fan/fly wheel, this wire is thin and prone to melt/ corrode / break. |

Re: 2019 ezgo efi won't start
Thanks again for all the input. After working with EZGO corp. they were able to find a coil and get it to my service people. Got the cart home and seems to be back to normal. I did verify the coil had been replaced. a big shout out to EZGO for intervening on this problem. Waiting until Nov. for this part was unacceptable. Hopefully no more issues.

Are you able to purchase just the ecu? The ground on a cart I have is no good and I’m having no luck finding anything

Re: 2019 ezgo efi won't start
Does this usually cause the fuel relay to actually go bad and cause a no spark condition too?
